My speech delayed child really tries to imitate the sounds of increasing length in this book. I am giving it four stars though because the illustrations are not too great. I personally think the pictures should be a little more realistic to help speech delayed children recognize real animals.Product details

This book is a good idea which is poorly executed. The illustrations couldn't be much worse. Photos would have been the best, realistic illustrations would have also been an improvement. Clip art would have even been better. The highly-educated author knows that children are drawn to animal sounds and repetitious text but has ignored the fact that they also need images that actually look like what they are representing.
